Black Stone Agate Hypothesis

Geologists Robert Dietz and John McHone's 1974 proposal that the Black Stone is not a meteorite at all but a terrestrial agate, based on a secondhand report describing diffusion banding characteristic of agates rather than any meteoritic texture.
